A Mustang With A Racing History!
I've purchased many Mustang parts on E-bay, but until purchasing this classic in October, 2005, never a car!
This 1970 Ford Musang first caught my attention when it was first listed on E-Bay in the middle of October. It had all the features that I desired, a 302 engine, five speed manual transmission, a good, solid body and the trim that all Mustangs want: BR Goodrich tires mounted on classic rims. Following a hotly contested auction which ended early because I negotiated a price the seller desired, the Mustang was mine. A couple of weekends later, we made the trip to Moline Illinois to pick up the car and the next day, delivered it home!
I've long coveted a Mustang Boss 302. Rich in racing history the value of this car which was only produced in 1969 and 1970 has multiplied many times in the last few years. So much so, that prices for original Boss 302 cars now approach upwards of $50,000.
Faced with this fact many enthusiasts and now me, have begun to take fastback models like the one above, and have restored them as "clones" or reproductions of the real thing, as it will be for this one. What it will become, in hopefully just a couple of years will resemble the Mustang Boss 302 that you see below.
